On January 24, 2006 Gregory Wilpert of venezuelanalysis.com addressed a large US delegation in Caracas, Venezuela. The group was in Venezuela with Global Exchange attending the World Social Forum and exploring the political and social changes taking place in that country. Eva Golinger is a Venezuelan-American attorney based in New York. She runs the website venezuelafoia.info which has been using the Freedom Of Information Act to obtain more information on the connection between the U.S. government and the anti-Chavez opposition in Venezuela.

The following talk was recorded in Caracas, Venezuela on February 3, 2006.

Your tax dollars at work in Venezuela: Based on information obtained through US government documents, many acquired through the Freedom of Information Act, Eva explains how US tax dollars are being used to undermine the democratically elected president, Hugo Chavez, and derail the growing movement toward participatory democracy in Venezuela. She also cites statements made by high-level members of the Bush administration and members of Congress calling for aggressive intervention in Venezuela.
